Camper Destroyed By Fire East of Grafton

In Local

A camper/trailer went up in flames on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 just east of Grafton.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Shelter Valley Road resident Mike Ainsworth heard an explosion outside his residence just north of County Road 2.

When he looked out, he noticed a camper/trailer on fire and quickly ran out to see if he could help.

Ainsworth took a number of dramatic photos of the trailer engulfed in flames.

The owner said they heard a loud bang and when she stopped, noticed the tire had blown on the camper and a fire had started and was spreading quickly.

Another person who was passing by helped get her camper/trailer unhooked from the vehicle which was moved away to a safe distance.

Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department arrived on scene quickly but the trailer was destroyed.
