Breaking News – Motorcycle Driver In Critical Condition Following Collision With Backhoe

One man was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre after his motorcycle collided with a backhoe in the Municipality of Port Hope on October 9, 2019.

Emergency services were called to Ganarasaka Road approximately two kilometres west of County Road 28 at approximately 7:18 p.m.

A eastbound motorcycle slammed into the back of the backhoe that was also heading eastbound.

There were numerous witnesses to the collision.

The driver of the motorcycle was transferred to Northumberland Hills Hospital and later airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with critical injuries.

The road in the area of the collision will be closed until approximately 4 a.m. while OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators examine the scene.
